What can you find in knowledge?

Knowledge: --one of the attributes of God- He possesses all knowledge.
--knowledge of divine and spiritual things is essential for salvation- thus the gospel is taught to every soul.(not person… spiritual learning directly to your soul)
Knowledge is one of the endowments of the Holy Ghost (john 14:26)
--One of the gifts of the spirit  (2 Peter 1:3-9) -Peter also lists Faith, patience, kindness, and virtue as necessary.
-- True knowledge is only of true things. Truth is light, the more truth you have, the more light and knowledge you have and the more like our Father in Heaven you are.
--The fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association. (Webster’s Dictionary)
--acquainted with facts, truths, or principles. (Dictionary.reference.com)

Romans 10:14- “how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?” Isa 46:9-10 2 Nephi 9:20, John 13:16, 1 Cor 12:8, Acts 15:18

Acquisition;
Knowledge is not obtained all at once, but by revelation, line upon line. (Isa. 28:9-10)
Knowledge is acquired through faith and prayer.

I'll admit it... This was mostly for a school assignment. But I went way over and beyond because I knew it was something important enough to post here. And as I looked at the references to knowledge I saw at the bottom- another reference in Proverbs 1:22-33. I looked it up and have been reading through the chapter, specifically the last half as noted. And right away I notice the slight sarcasm used to humble and teach those that aren’t following the Lord.
The very first verse in 22 states;
How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?... and fools hate knowledge?

I hear it talking about the ways of the world. How people think it’s not cool to be smart or go to school. Or how nice it is to not have to worry about responsibilities. Just relax and take a break because the simple easy life is where it’s at. These are not the ways of the Lord and this is not acceptable. As we get older we should naturally shift our way of thinking and how we see the world. We need learning. We need truth and knowledge and understanding. It makes everything so much better!

Often we may think it’s great to take things slow and easy, or not push ourselves. The adversary would have us be like this every day if he could. And our attitudes about living the gospel would quickly turn in the same direction. But we have to challenge ourselves!

If our character is not tested, if our will is not challenged, our desires, our faith, and our hopes and dreams not taken. How will we ever have the power to make them come true! SJH

We have to gain knowledge because in doing so we will be so much happier- and so much more like our Father in Heaven. The true religion of the Lord is change. Be open to it, be willing and wanting and waiting for it because when you know it’s happening it is the most joyous feeling there is. The most important change is in your mind, your heart, and your soul. Truth is taught by the spirit of God and you can sometimes feel it in your heart.
To know you pushed past one more challenge, one more struggle- that is what knowledge is all about. The desire to be better… to believe in yourself and the possibilities that await you. The power and ability that knowledge creates. When we have the future in mind, and an understanding of the reality that hard times await us- then we will not just make it though.

 We won’t just endure or let hard times come… we will stand up and fight our way through. We will turn to the Lord and take the first step even when we can’t see where it’s leading. We can know that the path we choose is good and true, and that as needed, we will be directed onward and upward. I have seen this so many times in the last few months. I often am not sure how to get a project done or what my homework is trying to teach me. But I know that as I push through and give in to the change and seek out learning- things fall into place. What seems like a miracle beforehand, turns out to just be me getting over my fear, or doubt, or lack of understanding- and just doing what I wasn't sure I could do.
And with the bigger challenges in life, we need those smaller experiences to give us hope. To help us remember that when we just buckle down and do it- things are gonna be fine. Challenging... but they'll work out and you'll be better off for it.
